BoothNet

This web site simulates a Trade Show.  Each of 200 plus MEMBER firms get a "virtual booth", plus centralized services and booth options to attract visitors and exchange contact data.  Services often involve access rights and preferences, so Boothnet is secure.  Visitors must register as USERS, and log in.

Each booth is managed by an administrator working for its MEMBER firm.  Such a USER gets extra "manager" rights and services which vary with the options the MEMBER has purchased.  Below, we discuss services for typical USERS, and especially those for booth managers.  For guided demo tours or more details on page sets, tags, or services planned, contact Dan@Lexikos.com

Virtual Booths

ShadowCats supplies a powerful page production engine using servlets and templates to define page views.  Each template holds special comments ("tags") which get replaced at run time with computed text.  Such text is based on booth specific properties, USER data, MEMBER data, etc..

This approach aids several options.  Log in as "guest" to see them.  The default booth (002) is a prototype from which "other booths" inherit missing page bodies. It also exposes aspects of its own construction and a working sitemap. (Warning: feature-set differences between suites and booths are not yet final.)

Registry Framework

ShowCase SIGs aid booth managers, and focus on Boothnet itself - its operation, promotion, training aids, etc.  Private SIGs aid other USERS and focus on MEMBER-specific PROJECTS, RESOURCES, etc. Tags on pages let its manager present such data as desired, and reward registered USERS with special discounts, services, etc. The rules are easily adapted by MEMBERS for many purposes.

Hospitality Suites

Boothnet uses central data on USERS and MEMBERS, plus MEMBER-specific record sets controlled by these custom-branded suites. They aid managers and other "special" registered vistors, and may offer them special pages and tags for advanced RESOURCES (J2EE aids, SOAP services, etc) sold by that MEMBER.

MEMBERS grant their booth managers power to control such options, to migrate related record sets to or from remote MEMBER data bases, and/or to arrange for their use or mutation by various tags. Such options make Boothnet a general and efficient way to project and capture useful business information for each MEMBER, and to offer personalized services to the staff, customers or prospects who register to receive them at that MEMBER's booth.
