ABOUT THIS PRIVATE SUITE
The /project/ web app (which holds this page) is being hosted by Shadowcats
to serve three distinct missions, which seem highly synergistic.
If you disagree, or wish more detail, the site policies
project might be a good place to start:
The Java code, common areas, branding and navigation, admin pages, tagsets
and documentation are all meant to evolve into the 2.0 release of Mesda's
VTS. This site allows for previews, Q/A and feedback.
ALL its visitors (but most especially those from JUG) are asked to submit
intelligent comments in email.
Although many visitors may never know this MJP suite exists (we are a
semi-private group), the overall site seems an ideal venue for MJP project leaders,
as it puts them back in charge of their own booth pages, and lets then add new optional code and features using
JSPs and secure booth admin pages, not FTP (or me).
Free hosting is a swap for beta-testing such features.
Showcase, as a project, is as old as the MaineJug web site. It has
gradually grown into a Mesda SIG;
its goals have now attracted support from several local firms, and its
history has lead semi-directly to missions #1 and #2. I believe these
concepts will keep being mutually supportive. RSVP if you are inclined
to help develop or Q/A them - or have the non-technical skills Showcase seeks.
